BOONEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Kentucky State Police has arrested an Owsley County man on multiple drug and weapon charges after responding to a shots fired call off of Chestnut Gap Road in Owsley County Sunday.
KSP says that upon arrival, they learned that a man was driving a white van and had reportedly fired shots near a home and left the scene.
Troopers located a white van matching the description at a home off of KY-28 outside of Booneville. During the investigation it was determined that James Smith was in possession of two hand guns, approximately 19 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, Suboxone tablets, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation a search of a home was conducted, which yielded approximately 1.5 pounds of suspected crystal methamphetamine, heroin, Hydrocodone, Gabapentin, Clonazepam, marijuana, and firearms.
James Smith was arrested and lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance and other drug and weapon related charges.
