Shemwell died Monday afternoon at UK HealthCare’s Kentucky Children’s Hospital after being stuck Saturday afternoon.

Police arrested 18-year-old Jacob Heil for driving under the influence after he allegedly hit Shemwell along Cooper Drive during the UK Football game.

“It’s unimaginable to most of us to comprehend what they are going through,” Andreas posted on the GoFundMe account. “There is nothing that can be done to ease the pain that comes with such an unexpected tragedy. They will never stop loving, missing, and grieving for the loss of Marco.”

A goal of $5,000 was set for the fundraiser. As of Tuesday afternoon, the campaign has raised more than $2,700.
