McConnell issues statement on Hurricane Florence

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky issued a statement regarding Hurricane Florence.

The Senator says he’s spoken to both Senator Richard Burr and Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott of South Carolina on the impact of the storms in their respective states.

McConnell says he assured the Senators that the U.S. Senate is ready to act.

“We are grateful for the local, state, and federal emergency preparedness officials and first responders who are working to keep residents safe during this dangerous time. And for all of those who will assess and repair the damage after the storm has passed,” said McConnell.
