PARIS, Ky. (WTVQ)- Frames on Main Gallery is a unique gallery of photography, art and custom framing at the corner of Seventh and Main in Paris, Kentucky. Bobby Shiflet started Frames on Main Gallery over 23 years ago.
Even as a kid, Shiflet looked at things a little different and was always searching for the perfect shot. With the beautiful landscapes of Kentucky and surrounding areas as his main inspiration, Frames on Main even has it s own ‘Kentucky Wall’ in the gallery.
For Frames on Main, custom framing has become the biggest part of their business. Shiflet says,”I like framing because it’s the final creative step. And if you put the right thing on your photograph or your art print or your poster it makes it, if you put the wrong thing on it, it actually kills it.”
Frames on Main Gallery specializes in custom photography, photo restoration, custom framing and shadowboxes. Photo restoration has been growing in popularity. This process scans old photos that have started to deteriorate and puts them into Photoshop to restore the original coloring. This process really makes older photographs come back to life, especially photos from the 1960s and 1970s.
Shiftlet says that Paris has been very good to him and his family. He even described Paris as “Mayberry with a twist.” While the drive from Lexington, Louisville and Cincinnati can be a little long, his customers love the beautiful drive.
