Man accused of stealing off-road vehicle dead after crashing it

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- In Whitley County, a man accused of stealing an off-road vehicle has died after crashing it.

According to the sheriff’s department, on Wednesday, the off-roader was reported stolen from a home on highway 511.

Around the same time, another officer spotted the vehicle.

He says the driver accelerated, lost control, flipped about three times and landed eight to ten feet over an embankment.

The driver, 40-year-old Scott Crawford from Tennessee was flown to UK Hospital where he died Friday.
