LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officials are searching for the owner of a malnourished horse that was found near the Kentucky River Parkway on Tuesday, according to Animal Care & Control.
They say someone boating on the Ky River over the weekend saw the horse on the hillside several times over a span of two days.
Officials say that person contacted officials.
Animal Control Officers (ACOs) arrived around 10:00am Tuesday and located the horse on a treacherous hillside shortly after, according to Fayette-Lexington Animal Care & Control.
They say despite being dehydrated and hungry, the horse is doing well and will continue to undergo routine vet care while in custody.
Anyone with any potential owner information is asked to contact the Animal Services Department at 859-255-9033 ext 233.
