It was mild and muggy once again for the start of the day. Temperatures through the afternoon will warm into the upper 80s and right around 90 degrees. I think temperatures will be a degree or two cooler today because of a little extra cloud cover. Heat index values will still get up around the mid 90s. Stay cool and hydrated if you have to be outside this afternoon. Check on pets, elderly, and children as well. Isolated showers and storms this afternoon and evening are possible. Tonight we’ll see mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 70s. There is a slight chance for an isolated shower overnight and to start your Thursday. Rain chances will pick up through the afternoon and evening with highs in the upper 80s. Expect scattered shower and storm activity Thursday through the weekend. Tropical Storm Gordon’s landfall has helped to push a strong area of high pressure more to our north east. This will now allow a cool front to move in Thursday. With the front and moisture from Gordon, rain chances go up Thursday and this weekend. A second front will move in Sunday prolonging rain chances. Temperatures through the weekend will begin to drop into the mid 80s. By early next week, the cold front Sunday should drop temperatures into the low 80s. Dew points look like they will drop slightly as well. A few showers are still possible early next week before high pressure settles into the region.
