UPDATE: Details released in deadly crash in Laurel Co.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- We now have more information on the deadly crash in Laurel County that happened around 1:15 Wednesday afternoon.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Chris Francis was driving a Toyota Camry when he crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a GMC Terrain  SUV. Deputies say drug use is suspected on Francis.

Deputies say Francis was airlifted to UK Hospital. His passenger, 60-year-old Holly Francis, was cut out of the vehicle and taken to the hospital where she later died.

Sheriff’s deputies say the driver of the GMC Terrain was 27-year-old Laura Allen. Allen had 2 children in the vehicle, an infant under one, and a 10-year-old girl. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Laurel County sheriff’s deputies are still investigating.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says it’s investigating a two-vehicle deadly crash.

Deputies say this crash happened on Hensley Road off KY 490 around 1:15 Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators say two cars hit head-on with injuries reported in both vehicles. They say one person was pronounced dead at the scene and another was airlifted to UK Hospital with serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office says re-constructionists were on the scene and an investigation is underway.

No names were immediately released.
