After a mild and muggy start to your Tuesday, temperatures will warm back into the low 90s. Heat index values will range between 95 to 100 degrees yet again. Stay cool and hydrated if you have to be outside this afternoon. Check on pets, elderly, and children as well. The heat and humidity may spark some spotty showers and storms this afternoon and evening, much like yesterday. Not everyone will see the activity. Tonight we’ll see partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 70s. It will be a dry start to your Wednesday with partly cloudy skies, but isolated showers and storms will build in through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s with a few spots hitting 90. A better chance for showers and storms will arrive Thursday thanks to a slow moving “cool” front. Right now, a strong area of high pressure is in control of the weather around the region. The remnants of Gordon will move on land tomorrow and will help to push the high further north, which will in turn allow for the front to finally drop south. The front will move slowly through the region giving us scattered showers and storms Thursday through the weekend. Temperatures will drop slightly during this time and settle in the mid to upper 80s.
