FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A stretch of Iron Works Pike in Lexington reopened just before 9:30 p.m. Friday after being closed for several hours following a dump truck accident.

Police say the dump truck overturned, dumping its load of sand along the stretch of road between Russell Cave Road and Paris Pike.  The sand covered both lanes of the two lane road.

The accident also led to a power outage in the area.  According to the Kentucky Utilities online outage map, at the height of the outage, 532 customers were without electricity.
