UPDATE: Details from officer-involved shooting in Madison Co. released


UPDATE: (9:01 p.m.)

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- We now know details in the officer-involved shooting Monday evening.

State police say they had been looking for a man who had multiple warrants. They say they located this man in the parking lot of the Marriott on Colby Taylor Drive. KSP confronted the suspect, which led to gunshots. They say that the suspect then drove off and drove into bushes. Troopers found the man dead in his car.

The name of the suspect has not been released.


UPDATE: (08/27/18 6:15 P.M.)

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Madison County coroner is on the scene at the officer-involved shooting.

The coroner tells ABC 36 that one man is dead after an apparent gunshot wound. No troopers hurt.

The shooting happened at the Townplace Suites near the Marriott.

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- Kentucky State Police say a state trooper has been in an officer-involved shooting in Richmond. They also say no troopers have been hurt.

KSP says this happened around 5:30 Monday evening at the Townplace Suites.
