LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Lexington middle school choir teacher was back in court Thursday facing more charges of sexual abuse of minors.
Thomas Steuart was back in front of a judge, this time for an additional charge of sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 12.
Steuart was already facing three counts of sexual abuse after he was arrested by police earlier this week.
Steuart is pleading not guilty to all four charges.
According to court documents, Steuart is accused of inviting children over to his house where they would swim, watch movies and Steuart would touch them inappropriately.
Steuart is the choir teacher at Winburn Middle School in Lexington.
He has been put on administrative leave by the district.
In court, the judge issued the same bond requirements as his first charges that Steuart be under house arrest and wear an ankle monitor.
Steuart’s lawyer says he did post bond.
In addition to that ankle monitor, the judge also ordered Steuart have no contact with an minors.
Steuart will be back in court September 7th.
