UPDATE: Estill County soccer coach in jail on rape charge

ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Suspended Estill County Girls’ Soccer Coach Andrew Hatton was arrested Tuesday on rape and other charges, according to State Police.

Investigators say the 28-year old Hatton, of Irvine, is accused of sending multiple female students nude and sexually explicit photographs, and a video through the social media app Snapchat.

He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center in Richmond charged with five counts of Rape 3rd Degree, two counts of Prohibited Use of Electronic Communication Device to Procure a Minor, two counts of Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor, and three counts of Distribution of Obscene Matter to a Minor, according to KSP.

We reported Monday he had been suspended while the school district and State Police investigated the initial allegation of sending a girl on the team sexually explicit photos.  At the time he had not been arrested or charged as the initial investigation was just underway.


ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – An Estill County High School coach is on suspension following a complaint by a player that he sent inappropriate pictures to her on social media.

Estill County School Superintendent Jeff Saylor says Andrew Hatton was placed on leave pending an investigation.

Hatton is a soccer coach at the high school.

Kentucky State Police say they were notified of an Estill County coach sending inappropriate pictures to a female player on Snapchat.

State Police say no charges have been filed and it is still early in the investigation.
