Hopkins was reportedly driving and Boone was in the back seat when they crashed into a tree, bounced off, and hit two others around 3:30 a.m. on McCracken Pike.

The coroner says neither young man was wearing a seat belt.

He added a woman sitting in the front seat was hurt.

It will take a few weeks for a toxicology screen to come back, but the coroner says speed was likely part of the reason for the crash.
