Lexington Police make arrest in Marathon, Republic Bank robberies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police have arrested a man they say robbed the Marathon on Alexandria Drive and the Republic Bank on Euclid Avenue on back-to-back days.

Police say 28-year-old Jonathan Slone robbed the Marathon gas station on Alexandria on July 17th at gunpoint, then robbed the Republic Bank on Euclid Avenue the next day.

Police do not say Slone used a gun in the Republic Bank robbery.

Slone also faces wanton endangerment charges for allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend’s car while trying to intimidate her.
