LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man accused of robbing a gas station at gunpoint and a bank the next day was arrested Friday, according to Lexington Police.
Investigators say 28-year old Jonathan Slone was charged with robbery, identity theft, giving a false name and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He’s accused of pulling a gun on a clerk at a Marathon gas station on Alexandria Drive July 17 and taking cash out of the register drawer.
The next day, July 18, he’s accused of robbing a Republic Bank branch on Euclid Avenue by walking in and handing a teller a note demanding cash from the drawer.
Police say security camera video of both robberies that was released publicly helped them identify Slone as the suspect.
He was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
