Man arrested after stealing shoes from Walmart then running from deputies


LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man after stealing shoes from a Walmart then running from police.

Deputies say an investigation began after 32-year-old Raymond Jackson had stolen items in his truck in a Walmart parking lot. While deputies were investigating the stolen items, Jackson came out wearing shoes he had allegedly shoplifted. Jackson then took off on foot, kicking the shoes off and got away.

Deputies were able to determine Jackson’s identity and obtain warrants for his arrest. They later found him 10 miles south of London.

Jackson is currently lodged at the Laurel County Detention Center.
