HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Harlan County man had an encounter with a bear, and he luckily isn’t hurt.
Jonathan Shelton was driving on Black Mountain when he saw a bear in the road. He stopped and pulled out his phone.
Shelton says he pulled out his phone to bring awareness to show how comfortable bears have become around people. Shelton didn’t have any food with him.
The State reminds people that it’s against the law to feed bears and that you can be fined up to $1000.
