BURNSIDE, Ky. (WTVQ)- A fire broke out around 4 a.m. at the Kingsford Manufacturing Company, according to the plant manager.
Fire officials say they had to make a county-wide call for back up, and a total of 18 crews were out there.
The plant manager says it’s a 24-hour plant so employees were there, but not inside the warehouse the fire started in. What caught fire inside the building were bags of charcoal, according to Pulaski County’s Public Safety Director.
Officials don’t know the cause of the fire. There is over $1,000 worth of damage to the product and building.
Fire officials say the fire was contained within two hours, but they were still on scene for some time removing all the bags of charcoal.
The plant manager says production started shortly after in some parts of the plant, but it will be back to normal operation by the end of the day.
