FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says there is a search going on for a man they say is wanted in connection to the murder of a woman in Frankfort.
The sheriff says Derek Garten, who in his 30’s, is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities began their search after for Garten shortly finding a woman dead Tuesday morning at a home off Meadow Glen Drive in Frankfort.
The victim is identified as 39-year-old Margaret Elizabeth Smith, of Frankfort.
The Franklin County Coroner’s Office says she died of a gunshot wound.
Garten is believed to be driving a Toyota 4-Runner with a front vanity plate that reads “punisher.”
