LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Mayor Jim Gray joined other community leaders to break ground Monday on Lexington’s latest project, the Town Branch Commons.
The project will connect the city’s two main walking trails, giving Lexington a 22-mile-long pedestrian path for bicycling, walking pets or even jogging.
Mayor Gray says it will connect Lexington’s urban parts with its rural parts, bringing people together.
“We’re building a great reason to work downtown, to move a business downtown, to live downtown, to visit downtown, to have fun downtown,” said Mayor Gray. “We’re building on the ‘experience’ economy.”
Mayor Gray says the project will be finished sometime in the next few years.
