LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The jury is still deliberating over the two men accused of killing Marine Jonathan Price.
Quincinio Canada and Dawan Mulazim, are accused of shooting Price and his wife Megan outside of Austin City Saloon in Lexington back in June 2014.
The prosecution went over its evidence in the closing arguments while the defense tried to discredit it.
The prosecution told jurors that over the course of the two-week trial, they heard plenty of evidence pointing to the defendants’ guilt, including a witness who claimed Canada had bragged to him about killing someone.
The defense argued that there is no hard evidence linking the two to the murder of Jonathan Price. They pointed out Megan Price’s description of the murder weapon, claiming it didn’t match the one prosecutors say was used to kill Jonathan Price.
During the trial, they pointed out that there was no DNA found on Price from Canada and Mulazim.
One defense witness even testified that Mulazim was at a strip club when the shootings occurred.
Canada faces seven counts. Mulazim faces eight which includes tampering with physical evidence. If convicted, both men could face the death penalty.
