NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Environmental crews are working through the weekend, testing a Nelson County river that bourbon spilled into on Friday.
A Barton 1792 rickhouse partially collapsed affecting about 9,000 barrels of bourbon.
One of the water testers tell us several barrels fell into a river about 250 feet away some broke and spilled.
Crews are cleaning it up.
The tester we spoke to says the river doesn’t provide drinking water, but his crew found several dead fish and snakes.
The distillery was open today for its normal hours.
