Temperatures warmed into the upper 70s and low 80s this afternoon with breaks in the clouds. We’ve seen showers and storms through the afternoon and will still see storms through this evening. Tonight, shower and storms will decrease, mainly after sunset. There severe risk is low, but some storms could still be strong to isolated severe with gusty wind, heavy rain, lightning, and small hail as potential threats. Activity will die down overnight with lows in the mid 60s. Saturday will be slightly drier with isolated shower and storm chances. Highs Saturday will remain in the low 80s. By Sunday, a strong area of low pressure will move in giving us an increased chance for showers and storms. They will start out more isolated in nature before becoming scattered through the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will be in the low 80s once again. Drier are begins to work in Monday and Tuesday with more sunshine and temperatures in the mid 80s Monday to upper 80s Tuesday. There is a slight chance for pop-up activity Monday and Tuesday because of the heat and humidity. Temperatures Wednesday through the weekend will climb around 90 to above 90 with heat indices nearing 100 degrees by the end of next week. The heat index all of next week looks to be at and above 90 degrees. Rain and storm chances will increase Wednesday through Friday with lingering activity possible into next weekend.
