PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The father of a Pulaski County toddler faces charges after his child was found walking in a roadway Monday.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, a man mowing his yard noticed a toddler walking down the middle of the highway near Grundy Road and Kuhnapfel Road around 12:45 p.m. Monday.
Deputies arrived and found the child barefooted and clothed only in a diaper. She had no injuries.
Deputies immediately began a search for the child’s parents or caregiver.
They say, after going door-to-door for two hours, they were able to locate the girl’s father, 22-year-old James Tyler Neal.
Deputies say the child’s father noticed she was missing from the home and went searching for her when he came across the deputies.
The toddler was taken into protective custody.
Neal was charged with criminal abuse and taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
