Police: Lawrenceburg mother indicted after child was treated for bruises and bite marks

A Lawrenceburg woman and her boyfriend were indicted for abusing a 3-year-old child, according to State Police.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lawrenceburg woman and her boyfriend were indicted for abusing her 3-year-old child, according to State Police.

Officials say back in May the child was brought into Frankfort Regional Hospital with bruises, bit marks and tested positive for amphetamines and marijuana.

Investigators say the mother of the three year old, Dawn Baker, age 36 of Lawrenceburg, Ky. and Baker’s boyfriend, James B. Stratton, age 35 of Frankfort, Ky. were each indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury for Criminal Abuse 1st Degree and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.

Officials say the 3-year-old was released to the care of a family member and the family member is working with Anderson County Social Services to insure the care of the child.
