LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Ten outbound flights at the Blue Grass Airport were delayed Wednesday morning after the airport received a call from the Transportation Safety Administration.
The airport says the TSA reported a “potentially suspicious item” around 5:30 a.m.
The airport says it had to re-screen all bags before flights could resume.
According to a statement by the TSA, the incident started when a baggage screening officer at the Blue Grass Airport noticed an image on the machine that screens bags did not match a bag being screened.
“TSA quickly corrected the problem, and in an overabundance of caution, worked with the airport to hold flights and rescreen bags before allowing them to proceed,” TSA said in the statement.
The airport says flights resumed around 6:45 a.m.
