MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Madison County deputy jailer is on the other side of the jail bars after being charged with drug trafficking.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says it received a tip from the Madison County jailer about an employee, 32-year-old Billy Bales, conducting a drug transaction.
The sheriff’s office says Bales completed the drug deal while in uniform and driving an official vehicle.
He was not at the jail or on the property during the transaction, according to the sheriff’s office.
Kentucky State Police arrested Bales Monday.
He is charged with official misconduct and drug trafficking.
He was booked into the Rockcastle County Detention Center.
