Near record temperatures expected Mother’s Day

Temperatures have made it into the 80s today with mostly sunny skies and breezy conditions. A few clouds will build in through this evening resulting in partly cloudy skies, but temperatures will stay mild. Lows tonight will settle into the upper 60s. Mother’s Day is looking similar to today with more sunshine and slightly breezy conditions. Temperatures will be slightly hotter and settle close to 90 degrees, which will be near record highs for several locations.  A stalled front to our north will gradually begin to dip south Sunday night bringing in a slight chance for rain late. Temperatures will once again settle into the upper 60s. Highs Monday will top out at 90 degrees, which will once again bring us near record highs in spots and give us heat indices in the mid 90s. More sunshine is expected Monday with isolated chances for rain and storms generally north of I-64. We will see another slight chance for rain Tuesday with increasing clouds and highs in the upper 80s. Feels like temperatures will still be around 90 degrees.  Rain and storm chances increase Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low to mid 80s. Scattered rain is expected Friday afternoon with highs in the low 80s. Temperatures will settle around 80 Saturday with a continued chance for showers and storms.
