UPDATE: Man accused of causing school lockdown apprehended

Deputies in Madison County say one man has been arrested and another is on the run.

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ)- Police say they found and arrested suspect Nathan Hisle, who investigators say ran through the campus of Silver Creek Elementary in Berea while trying to get away from police Tuesday morning.

Police also arrested Jonathan Carpenter, unrelated to Jason Carpenter, for trying to hinder the arrest of Hisle.

Both were taken to Madison County Detention Center in Richmond.

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Deputies in Madison County say one man has been arrested and another is on the run.

On Tuesday morning the Madison County Street Crimes Unit initiated a traffic stop on Old U.S. 25 in Berea.

Deputies say as the vehicle came to a stop, the two male occupants fled on foot.

Authorities say one of the suspects fled through the campus of Silver Creek Elementary school, causing a temporary lock down.

One of the suspects, Jason Carpenter, 25, of Berea was found hiding behind a storage building on KY 1016, according to investigators.

Carpenter, was arrested on active warrants for Failure to Appear from both Madison and Fayette Counties.

Madison County deputies say they are still looking for Nathan Hisle, the second occupant of the vehicle.

Hisle has an active warrant for a parole violation and may be armed, according to detectives.

Hisle was last seen wearing a red shirt and tennis shoes.
