KSP troopers say an initial investigation has determined 37-year-old Travis Helbert was driving a Silverado Northbound on US 119 while pulling a horse trailer.

According to troopers, he lost control of the truck and crossed the centerline. He continued into the Southbound lane where it hit the Toyota Yaris 66-year-old Judy Kiser was driving.

Troopers think rain and wet roads contributed to the crash.

Kiser and her two passengers, 90-year-old Kathleen Tackett and 61-year-old Barbara Newsome were taken to the hospital.

That is where the coroner pronounced Newsome dead.

Helbert refused medical treatment.

He was charged with DUI, manslaughter, assault, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
