MARTIN CO., Ky. (WTVQ) – A West Virginia man is facing charges for a triple murder in Kentucky.
State police say a Martin County Grand Jury indicted Lance Ward, 28, Thursday on murder and robbery charges.
Ward is accused of killing Amber Lockard, 31, Micah Sammons, 20, and Derek James, 26.
The three were found shot near an abandoned strip mine near the Pike-Martin County line in March.
Lockard’s car was later found in West Virginia.
Investigators say evidence found in Lockard’s car led to the charges against Ward.
Ward is currently in jail in West Virginia on unrelated charges.
State police say they do expect him to be brought back to Kentucky.
