CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Clark County mother was arrested after daycare workers noticed bruises on two of her young children.
According to The Winchester Sun, 28 year-old Crickett Moore of Winchester was arrested Monday on a single count of first degree criminal abuse.
According to the arrest citation, Moore dropped off her 1 year-old and 2 year-old at a Winchester daycare Monday morning where daycare workers found bruises on the children.
The daycare workers notified state social services who then contacted police to begin an investigation.
Reports say that the 1 year-old suffered from severe facial bruising, while the 2 year-old had bruising around an eye and on her arm.
Moore allegedly told daycare workers that the 1 year-old had “fallen a lot,” and in an interview, the 2 year-old said her mother had caused the bruising on her arm.
The Winchester Sun reports that social workers took custody of the 1 year-old and 2 year-old as well as two of Moore’s other children.
Moore has only been charged for the bruising on the 1-year-old at this time, but according to Winchester Police Capt. James Hall, additional charges may be added.
According to the jail website, Moore is currently being held in the Clark County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond.
