UPDATE: The Clark County coroner has identified the husband and wife involved in a murder-suicide Thursday.
Clark County Coroner Robert Gayheart confirms that 38-year-old Herbert Ray Rice shot and killed 35-year-old Kathleen Costello, before taking his own life.
According to the Winchester Sun, Rice was arrested on April 19 on child sexual exploitation charges.
Kentucky State Police say Herbert Rice was arrested and charged with 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and one count of promoting a minor under 16 in a sex performance.
The Winchester Sun reports Rice was released on a $15,000 cash bond shortly after his arrest.
WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Two Mile Road where a man said he shot his wife.
Deputies say they tried to talk him out of the house and put down the gun. This lasted for just a few minutes. After talking to him, they heard a single gunshot.
Deputies say when they went inside, the man was dead and so was his wife. The man killed his wife then himself.
The sheriff’s office says the couple had been married about a year. There were animals in the home at the time, but are okay.
