BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- An early morning police chase in Bourbon County ended with a car crashing through a house and one man in the hospital.

It all started around 5 a.m. Thursday when Millersburg police say 25-year-old Billy Jack Bowles of Lexington refused to pull over during a traffic stop.

Police say Bowles at one point did pull over and let out two passengers before speeding away, losing control of his car and crashing into a home off Winchester Road near Claiborne Farm.

Bowles was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say Bowles is being charged with 6 counts of wanton endangerment among several other traffic violations.

The family who lived in the home was there at the time of the crash.

It was a terrifying morning for the young family who live in the home after a car lost control and crashed through their two-year-old son’s bedroom.

“I’m just very thankful and blessed that he wasn’t in that room because it could have been a different outcome,” said Fallon Jones, who lives in the house.

Jones says she’s still coming to terms with just how close she came to losing her two-year-old son Riley.

“I probably wouldn’t have my son if he didn’t hit the wall and the beam of the house first,” said Jones.

Jones says she, her husband and two kids were asleep when a car crashed into their home around 5:30 Thursday morning.

“It sounded like something exploded and then our house shook,” said Jones.

Jones says she wasn’t sure what was going on until her husband ran outside.

“And saw a car over here in that bush behind that truck and it was on fire,” said Jones.

Jones says her husband called 9-1-1 and that’s when they realized part of the car had gone through her son’s room, who just minutes earlier had come into their room.

“Yeah. So if he hadn’t come to our room it would have been a different story,” said Jones.

A story, Jones says she’s forever thankful she doesn’t have to tell.

Instead, all she has to do is explain to her son why he won’t be able to sleep in his room for a while.

“He says that he has no room. So he knows that there’s a hole in his wall,” said Jones.
