Frankfort Police: Expect Friday’s rally to cause traffic delays

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) -The Frankfort Police Department is warning drivers who normally travel near the state capitol to expect delays Friday.

Educators from several counties in Kentucky will be in Frankfort Friday to rally for education funding and against the new pension law.

The protest is being held while the House and Senate are in session.

Frankfort Police say Capital Avenue will be open to traffic but are telling drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area if they can.

Large numbers of teachers are expected to be at the rally and multiple counties have cancelled school Friday to allow them to attend.
