Water plant struck by lightning during storm


JACKSON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Jackson Water Plant in Breathitt County was struck by lightning Tuesday night as storms moved through, temporarily knocking out the plant’s computer system, according to water officials.

Repairs have been made, but a boil water advisory was issued for all customers.

Affected customers should boil all tap water to be used for cooking and drinking for at least three minutes until further notice.
