WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office says a tip led them to a home where children were living in unsanitary conditions.
The sheriff says deputies went to the home on Reverend Gene Young Road Tuesday morning for a welfare check.
Deputies say they found roaches in and around food and discovered the home did not have running water.
Social services removed three children, ages 4, 3, and 1, from the home.
The sheriff says 30-year-old Heather Clark and 19-year-old Carlton Douglas were both charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
They are not the childrens’ parents, but the sheriff says Clark and Douglas were in charge of caring for them.
