Gas leak forces street closure, business evacuation in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A gas leak in Frankfort Monday morning forced the evacuation of a business and the closure of a street.

The Frankfort Emergency Management Agency says a four-inch gas line ruptured on Shelby Street at around 10 a..m.

Officials say a business on the street, Government Solutions, had to evacuate because of the leak.

Shelby Street is closed between 2nd and 4th Street and, according to The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the intersection will be closed for the rest of the day as crews repair the line.
