Winter Weather Advisory overnight into Wednesday morning

Overview:  A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of Central and Eastern Kentucky overnight into early Wednesday morning, with a trace to 1” or more of snowfall possible.  The higher snowfall totals are expected to be for the higher elevations of Southeast Kentucky. Scattered snow showers will be possible overnight into Wednesday morning, with icy spots of area roads and surfaces, with low temperatures around 22 degrees. Wednesday will feature mostly sunny skies and a cold high temperature of 39 degrees.  Thursday will be back to more seasonable temperatures, with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures around 55 degrees. A wintry mix to rain will be possible for Friday and St. Patrick’s Day Saturday, with no additional snowfall accumulation expected, and high temperatures in the mid 40s.

TONIGHT:  Scattered snow showers will develop overnight into Wednesday morning, with icy spots possible on area roadways.  Overnight low temperatures will be frigid, with lows around 22 degrees.

WEDNESDAY:  Partly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures develop, with a high of 39 degrees.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT:  Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures continue, with an overnight low temperature of 32 degrees.

THURSDAY:  Mostly sunny skies and seasonably cool temperatures develop, with a high of 55 degrees.

THURSDAY NIGHT:  Mostly cloudy skies and cold temperatures develop, with a low of 29 degrees.

FRIDAY:  Mostly cloudy skies and the chance for a wintry mix develops, with afternoon high temperatures around 44 degrees.

FRIDAY NIGHT:  Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures develop, with an overnight low of 27 degrees.

SATURDAY:  Cloudy skies and a few rain showers mixed with snow will be possible for St. Patrick’s Day Saturday, with a high of 45 degrees.

SATURDAY NIGHT:  Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures continue, with an overnight low of 36 degrees.

SUNDAY:  Partly cloudy skies and seasonably cool temperatures develop, with a high of 54 degrees.

SUNDAY NIGHT:  Mostly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures will be around, with an overnight low of 36 degrees.

MONDAY:  Mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers develop, with a cool high temperature of 57 degrees.

MONDAY NIGHT:  Mostly cloudy skies and a wintry mix will be possible for Monday night, with a low of 35 degrees.

TUESDAY:  Mostly cloudy skies and the chance for a little wintry mix will be possible for Tuesday, our first official day of spring, with a chilly high of 48 degrees.
