Frigid night ahead with snow flurries possible

Overview:  Unsettled weather continues at times this week, with a slow warming trend for the end of the week.  Overnight will be freezing cold, with low temperatures around 26 degrees, which may lead to some slick spots on area surfaces.  Tuesday will be cold and breezy, with the chance for a few snow flurries, and high temperatures around 39 degrees.  Scattered snow showers will be possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, which could lead to a dusting of snow for parts of Kentucky.  A few sprinkles will be possible in Eastern Kentucky for Wednesday and Thursday, with a wintry mix possible for Friday.  Rain showers will be possible into the weekend, with highs around 49 degrees on St. Patrick’s Day.

TONIGHT:  Mostly cloudy skies linger, with a cold overnight low temperature of 26 degrees.

TUESDAY:  Mostly cloudy skies and snow flurries develop Tuesday, with a cold high temperature of 39 degrees.

TUESDAY NIGHT:  Mostly cloudy skies and frigid temperatures develop, with an overnight low temperature of 23 degrees.  Scattered snow showers will be possible overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

WEDNESDAY:  Partly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures develop, with a high of 40 degrees.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT:  Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures continue, with an overnight low temperature of 32 degrees.

THURSDAY:  Partly cloudy skies and seasonably cool temperatures develop, with a high of 56 degrees. A few spotty rain showers will be possible in Eastern Kentucky.

THURSDAY NIGHT:  Mostly cloudy skies and cold temperatures develop, with a low of 33 degrees.

FRIDAY:  Mostly cloudy skies and the chance for a wintry mix develops, with afternoon high temperatures around 45 degrees.

FRIDAY NIGHT:  Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures develop, with an overnight low of 28 degrees.

SATURDAY:  Partly cloudy skies and a few rain showers will be possible for St. Patrick’s Day Saturday, with a high of 49 degrees.

SATURDAY NIGHT:  Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures continue, with an overnight low of 36 degrees.

SUNDAY:  Mostly cloudy skies and seasonably cool temperatures develop, with a high of 57 degrees.  Scattered rain showers will be possible.

SUNDAY NIGHT:  Mostly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures will be around, with an overnight low of 45 degrees.

MONDAY:  Mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers develop, with a milder high temperature of 62 degrees.
