LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – The National Weather Service in Louisville confirmed Monday that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Garrard County over the weekend.
According to the storm survey crews, the tornado touched down near Lancaster around Gillespie Pike on Saturday and reached peak wind speeds of approximately 100 mph.
No one was injured but the tornado did damage buildings.
This makes the sixth confirmed tornado in Kentucky over the weekend.
Three people died as a result of the storm system that came through the state and spawned those tornadoes.
