FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Domestic violence shelters in Kentucky received a big boost from shoppers.
Governor Matt Bevin and First Lady Glenna Bevin joined community partners Tuesday to announce the results of the 2018 Shop & Share fundraiser for domestic violence shelters in the Commonwealth.
According to the governor’s office, shoppers at more than 120 Kroger and other grocery stores across Kentucky donated $585,800 in supplies and funds during the 9th annual Shop & Share event on Saturday, February 3.
The one-day goods drive was organized by First Lady Glenna Bevin.
On Shop & Share day, volunteers at Kroger, Food City, Super Dollar, and IGA stores provided a list of items needed at Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence shelters.
These items include non-perishable foods, school supplies, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.
