LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington city officials say there were no major issues after the snowfall overnight.
The Lexington Police Department responded to 24 traffic-related calls with no major injury accidents, according to the city.
There were two injury collisions, nine non-injury collisions and 10 motorist assists
One of those accidents involved a snow plow.
Police say the snow plow was turning onto Man O’ War Boulevard and struck a car, but there were no injuries and the damage was minor.
Police also report that there were no road closures or significant traffic impacts.
The divisions of Streets & Roads and Water Quality began pre-treating roads on Friday at 11 a.m.
Crews have been working 12-hour shifts and, according to the city, have used a total of 767 pounds of salt since 8 p.m. Friday night while treating roads.
A new shift of workers will be reported at 8 a.m. Saturday morning to continue treating.
The city says Lextran buses are currently operating on Snow Plan, which means there is limited stop service and abbreviated routes. Riders can only board at stops marked with snow flakes.
