FCPS encourages students to visit doctor soon


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Fayette County Public Schools are encouraging families to bring their students to the doctor soon because of new immunization requirements.

All students must receive their first dose of the Hepatitis A vaccine before Valentine’s Day. Students will then get the second dose in six months, before the start of the next school year.

When students turn 16, it is required they get the Meningococcal CV4 vaccine.

Students’ families are encouraged to schedule doctor visits as soon as possible because of new immunization requirements in Fayette County Public Schools covering Hepatitis A and Meningococcal CV4.

The state requires all students bring in a new immunization certificate for the next school year.
