LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – 75 cadets set out on a 24-week journey Sunday.

They’re training to become troopers with Kentucky State Police.

During the training they will be tested on all aspects of the job, including driving and shooting.

Sergeant Josh Lawson went through the same training a few years back and says it’s not easy.

Cadets have the option to drop out any time if they find it necessary.

If they do resign, Lawson says they can re-enroll later.
