LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – City crews are pre-treating bridges and overpasses in advance of possible snow over the weekend.
According to the city, crews will be available for weather-related work, if the need arises.
The Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention Cold Weather Plan is in effect through Tuesday, January 2.
The plan is activated any time the temperature is expected to fall below freezing. It offers warm, secure shelter to Lexington’s homeless community during the cold temperatures.
The plan includes expanded shelter services and free transportation to shelters. For a list of all available shelters and transportation services, visit uwbg211.org.
If you see someone who may need a ride to shelter, call or text the Catholic Action Center’s Compassionate Caravan at (859) 913-0038 from 5 to 11 p.m.
