London, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a juvenile is facing adult charges after taking off in a stolen truck, leading officers on a chase then hitting two patrol cars.
State Police say a trooper spotted a 1995 Ford Ranger pick-up truck that was reported stolen early Wednesday morning while he was patrolling on US HWY 25 in the Lily community.
The pick-up truck was reported stolen from a home on Barbourville Road in Laurel County at around 5 a.m.
When the trooper tried to stop the truck, he says the juvenile behind the wheel took off, beginning a chase that lasted for several minutes.
He says the truck went into a field then rammed a Laurel County Sheriff’s patrol car and the trooper’s patrol car.
The juvenile jumped out and ran off but was located several minutes later.
No one was injured during the pursuit.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, driving under the influence, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and several other traffic charges.
