WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Hundreds of volunteers helped make Christmas for families in Clark County a little happier.
Operation Happiness was held in Winchester on Wednesday.
According to Debbie Fatkin, director of Clark County Community Services, around 600 volunteers helped with the event, and that help was needed.
Close to 1,100 families registered to received donations this year.
Those families received boxes containing food and household items and they were also able to select clothing.
Volunteers also fed those who came through the doors on Wednesday and kids got to visit with Santa.
Fatkin says it takes about $40,000 each year to run the program and that the number of families registering each year continues to grow.
