LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a man showed a gun after being stopped for suspected shoplifting in a baby clothes store Wednesday night.
Investigators say a man had been in Carter’s in Hamburg for about an hour when employees say they saw him stuffing baby clothes into his jacket.
When the workers stopped the man as he tried to leave the store, police say the man lifted his jacket, displaying a handgun in his pocket. Police say the man did not pull the gun out or fire the weapon.
After the gun was displayed, employees backed-off and the man left the store, according to investigators.
Police searched the area after setting up a perimeter, but the man got away.
No one was hurt.
The robber is described as white, 6’0″ in his 20’s with facial tattoos.
